Outline colour missing? - Adobe Illustrator import question

Post by BigBack »

Hi all

Potential new user here! I have been playing with the demo of moho and I am very impressed with it thus far.

I have been particularily impressed wth the .swf output for what I am doing....(all the vector data comes into flash as key frames perfectly..) and the ability to import 3d .obj files.

In one of my tests, I imported some art I did in Macromedia Freehand (my tool of choice...too bad it will likely die :( ) as .ai version 8 and the data and colour came in perfectly, but the outline colour for all my inklines failed to come through? The lines are all there, but they seemed to have lost their colour and or thickness attributes?

Does anyone use Freehand for illustration and have experience this?

Its not too bad a thing to have to re-colour and set the thickness inside of moho, but it would sure save some time if it all came through clean.

Illustrator file import problems feature regularly here, unfortunately. It's a longer way around, but you might try exporting a flash file into Flash (if you have it) and exporting an .ai file from there. Seems to give less problems for some reason.

You could try it anyway.

Hey jahnocli

Well I will be damned LOL! I brought my Freehand file natively into Flash (which works awesome including gradients and everything...It is the single reason why I am crying internally that Freehand will likely die :( Flash integration is 100% perfect with Freehand including complex gradients and effects..) and then exported out of Flash to .ai version. 8.

Load up my demo of moho and imported a perfect, clean .ai file into Moho. Great tip jahnocli!

Thanks!
