Do you guys have any tips for creating soundtracks? I used fruityloops but i suck it and i was wondering if there's other programs, simpler than fruityloops for creating soundtracks, music to describe emotions and scenes in my animations.
Now, i use free stuff from the internet and i put them together to make what i need but it's not very flexible.
Thanks.

If you're not a good musician, you're better of with using stuff from others. There's enough really good stuff on the net for free, and I really mean the free stuff (CC licence). In case of doubt just ask the musician/composer and ask for permisson, many of them will gracefully allow you to use their work for your animation.

I really like SmartSound products. They tend to be a bit expensive, but a few times a year, music goes on sale and becomes (more or less) affordable.

Slowtiger is right again. If you are looking for ambient music and such but you are not much of a musician you might want to try searching for music . Most of the stock emotions are out there.
Also I'm sure there will be some budding foley/music guy out there that would love to collaborate with you too. I know I'm the first to moan about free work and such but that's me. Got to be some students out there that would be interested just make it clear of your budget and that you guys are serious with scripts and stuff.

Just a thought.

Alternatively try humming

Recently I`ve heard about ujam dot com. It`s a cloud-based solution on the web, but could be useful for some less demanding audio creations.

In a way it is limited with possibilities but as said, it could be a very easy way to make interesting musical themes. As much as I understood their licensing, all that you make is at your disposal.

Take a look, at least you might have some fun.

*edit: after I`ve posted this text, it all sounded to me like those from spambucket, but no - it`s just what I had on mind ,)

Yeah, i suck at music, i guess i'll rely on free stuff for now, but i'm not giving up.
I found an interesting website that allows you to create music without installing any programs: http://looplabs.com/
