Projector output = 1024x768 ?

Hi Guys,
Planning to make a small anim for up
coming office Xmas party using
projector output.
Some net reading led me to believe that
1024x768 screen size is the best for 1080 projector
display (yet allows me to test out the
result on my TV at home)
Let me know if this is "right", and please share
your thoughts if you have done this before.
