Anyone know anything about the Japanese software, Live2D (cough, Patmals, cough)?
http://www.live2d.jp/

It seems to be very Anime Studio like, only it uses bezier curves to influence points instead of bones.

I have justdownloaded the software, which comes in two files: Modeler and Animator (sounds like lightwave).
The files are Java files. I have to play with it now to get an understanding and give you morefeedback and maybe a test file for you to check out.

Yes! So, it doesn't seem to to need install but I may be wrong.
edit: there are shortcuts in startbar so, maybe it did somehow - i don't know anything about Java.

There are two versions avaliable: a free (with limitations such as size, export formats and a watermark) which i i just got my code and a paid standard version which costs 9,800円(yen) but currently on sale for 6,800円(yen)

As you said, Rudiger - there is a bezier pen tool but there is also a normal pen tool. kind of reminds me of flash.

Rudiger,
You CAN actually do some animation in the modeler side of this program. I am checking out the demo files that come preinstalled (quite a lot too)

can you download the free version?

I just wana correct myself once again... the price above is ctaly fo the animator - but the animator seems more like after affects. I mean for placement and stuff like that.
I bit the bullet and purchased both products.

May take a while to get accustomed to it. I DO like how certain layers have been preset so you can create, say the eyebrows in the set folder and front part of the hair and back etc.

I will try and make some crappy file for you guys ;)

But being to read japanese is, i think, needed for this program.

My PC is Japanese so it may just default to that locale. I could translate and localize it but it would take time which i don't really have.

Thanks for your effort Patmals.

Maybe there is a language file that could be translated with Google translate, which would be better then Japanese for those of Us who do not read it.
