and i am try to have text show up for 100 frames..... then be gone and new tex show .....but it seems every time i grab my text it scrolls across the screan.....i just want it to show up now?This is driving me crazy Jim

You need to train the concept of keyframes.

A movement has a start and an end. Both you have to tell the program. The default position of any object will be the one in frame #0. If you just create one key for the position at the end of the movement, AS assumes that you want a movement from that initial position on.

"show up, then be gone": can be done in two ways. Simple way: just put that object outside the blue rectangle until and after you need it.

More complicated way: open the layer properties, check/uncheck visibility where you need it.
