hi, i'm trying to import a .psd file individually but when i do the file does not get imported at all. i'm running ASP pro 8 on a windows 7 and the .psd file came from photoshop CS5 from a mac. i tried importing the file as a composite and it worked fine, but this isn't what i want.

what's the problem here? do i need to save the file in CS5 as a different format?
am i missing an additional step in importing the file on ASP?

A couple of questions and information about the PSD import.

1. When importing, does AS ask if you want to load individually or flattened?
1a. individual will load in the layers.

2. Are the layers visible ( invisible layers will not be loaded into AS)
2a. if the first/ top layer is invisible, nothing will be loaded.

3.Layer effects, shapes, type and other special features of Photoshop will not be imported. ( Only Raster Layers, their Mode and their Opacity will be loaded, although I like to reserve the setting of the opacity and mode for when I am in Anime Studio.

4. Real time linking will work great for updating the Raster layers in PSD, saving and then viewing in Anime Studio Pro, but reordering or renaming in Photoshop and saving will break the link.

I suspect 2a. could be your problem, but may be wrong...

we solved the problem, thank you . we had layer effects and masking and it wasn't rasterized.
