3D tires with physics (and question about strokes in 3d)

I'm working on an animated documentary about a guy who builds houses out of old tires.
So since tires are going to show up a lot in different angles I decided to model and texture one in 3D in Anime studio using the lathe 3D option.
It was actually pretty recently that I figured out you can use image textures on the 3D objects you make in AS...

There is one scene where a bunch of tires fall down from the sky so I tested the physics feature and it worked out pretty well: Test clip

On the tire to the right I actually animated a little squash and stretch after turning off the physics but it doesn't really show.

By the way, does anyone know why this happens:

The grid making up the floor is made with the same stroke width all over, but when you rotate it in 3D space it gets thick on one side and thin on the other. This pretty much always happens to me. Very annoying.

Something I learned about physics:

While only a shape like this is needed to make the tire:

I had to make an extra, invisible shape to make the tire balanced in the physics engine:

It looks awsome, i didn't knew you can put textures on 3d models in AS, i have to try this.

I don't know why it happens, but it can be avoided turning off "scale compensation" on layer proprieties.

Great work indeed, also did not know about the texturing, thanks for the tip!

It can take some trial and error to get it to wrap the way you want though.

Oh, I hadn't thought of that! The lines don't get smaller the further back they are now but at least they're not uneven.

This is something I want to refer back to. (I just wanted to subscribe to this and I don't see an option other than to reply.)

Hehe, at the bottom of any thread there is a "watch this topic for replies" link.

Selgin, thanks. I see where the option becomes available after login.

In all the years i've been here, i've never noticed that link :|
(this skill is why i can ignore the character wizard button - but it also gets me in to trouble with the wife hehe)
