Hey everybody.
I am starting a new tutorial series on how to create a sprite animation in Anime Studio. Sprite animations are very popular online so I figured I would be able to introduce new people to Anime Studio. It is beginner friendly.

I've used BannedStory Sprites (from MapleStory in Flash) and it was a bit tedious doing so. I'm anxious for part 4 to see if there's any expedited techniques to using ANime Studio as opposed to Flash.

I just completed part four . . . and somehow the computer has glitched and I cannot find the video file. I did not delete it . . . and it is not hidden. I run a search and I cannot find it.
This is weird. I guess I will have to wait till another time.

Okay, so I found the video file but it was only visible in my screen capture program. When I tried to open it, it said there was an error. When I tried to move the file, it said the file did not exist. So, I deleted the file. Then I went into the Recycle Bin and restored it to my desktop. It worked.
That was really weird.

Here is some I did awhile back using just about the same technique you describe. I even got some of it from that web site you used. I put this on the back burner though and hope one day to have time to make a sprite animation.

For those who are interested in Sprite based animations, a really good resource for sprites is Bannedstory, which is a character creator for the MapleStory 2D MMO.
http://www.maplesimulator.com/programs/bannedstory
Every graphic asset from that game is available via a download somewhere (don't remember exactly where) as well as within an online Adobe Air application.
After you've created your character, there are options for exporting what they consider a sprite sheet, for every available animation (of which there are many), and even with an option for every facial expression the character is capable of. You can export with a weapon in hand, then another without a weapon in hand. It's not really a single sprite sheet, they actually export a single PNG for every frame, so it'd be very easy to import into AS.
I've quickly created a basic character, and exported sprite sheets for all the character expressions and have made it available for yo to download and take a look at. The actual character customizations is pretty elaborate in terms of clothing options, facial features, weapons, etc...
Take a look around for some bannedstory animations, people have been very creative with them using photo editors and Flash. COmbine the power of AS with such elaborate sprites should be a great combination.
Here are 3 of my own experimentations (not done in AS, I did these in Flash over a year ago... they're not very elaborate, they were just experiments)

(the download is 6 MB, because I exported for every facial expression and every animation/action)
