Does it happens with all the images?
Can you post one of your images to try here?

Vista is probably the worst OS ever made by Microsoft.

No offense, but windows 2000 was the worst by far, they had the worst return ever, they had to come up with xp less then a year after.

I had it installed for 3 days, 3 days of crashing and blue screen of death, sheesh, then came XP, the holy saviour of us poor windowers! :)

I'll use XP until MS stops supporting it. I used windows 98 up till 2008 lol.

I'm having crashing problems on Mac OS X with ASP8. I'm working on an animation that uses a lot of images, warped with bones, as well as vector layers, and ASP8 crashes all the time. It's gotten now so that it crashes when I select a layer in the Layer Manager, or do other simple things, like translate a layer. I've opened a case with Smith-Micro on this last week and have corresponded with their tech a few times. But no solution so far. I could take the animation back to version 7, but I would have to start over again, as I can't open it in 7 now.

Can you spell F-R-U-S-T-R-A-T-I-O-N?

As I said, I am in contact with the tech people, but meanwhile I'm still trying to get the work done. And I'm almost finished with it. I just had a good 40 minutes or so without a crash (Yay!) and then I clicked on a group layer to open it and BOOM! Crash. So, I do one thing, then I save it, then I do one more small thing, and save it. I hope there really is a good solution. If not, I'll be going back to 7 for the next one.

This happens to me when I use AS on two monitors. Selecting layers, translating layers and such will crash it sooner or later.

If I use it on one monitor, no problems. (Windows 7 X64)

I have a problem with opening images. From the add layer it is unstable, sometimes working other times not. But from file- import it works fine.

Two separate sets of code to do one job? One more stable than the other?

Could be, since when you import a photoshop file from the menu you get the option of importing separate layers, but not when using the add layer button.
