Auto Save For Crash Recovery

Hey guys/girls,
I downloaded ASPRO 8 as soon as it was released and have found it an o.k. upgrade from version 7 (a little too hobby!). I did however notice it was performing a bit slow and in turn was destroying my productivity and patience (WIN7 64bit, 8GB, mutliple processors).
I decided to turn off "Auto Save for Crash Recovery" (found in edit preferences) - a slighty risky move - but AS is now performing better than ever. I guess it was using too much to save a backup every now and then.
...Just a little tip if things are running slowly...
PS - I always save continous different copies of my work, just incase
