Good Vector Program

Hi.
Can anyone suggest a Vector program to trace a full colour character rendered from AS?

I need to be able to convert an AS character that uses AS Shading into a file that can be read in Illustrator or Corel. The vector tacing programs I have used unfortunately trace the Jaggies it finds in outlines of the PNG file and makes a mess of the output when zoomed. I need something that will compensate for those jaggies and give a smooth result.

Anyone?
Thanks

Thanks sbtamu

If anyones interested I just tried Vector Magic and it's freakin amazing! It actually converted my AS character into perfect vectors. I had to sharpen the blur on the shading to 0 but it came out perfect.

Only drawback is the price!!

http://vectormagic.com/home

AU$ 341.00 For Stand alone version
or
AU$ 9.20 Per Month

Ouch!

I just tried it, it seems to work great.

This is what I tested.

You can give a try to Inkscape.

Hi Genete.
Do you have any examples of Inkscape vectorizing?
One thing I was amazed at was with Vector Magic was that the point count was kept to a complete minimum.

Hi DK,
Inkscape just uses the potrace raster to vector conversion utility which has been ebedded into it.
You can se some examples here:
http://potrace.sourceforge.net/samples.html
Faq here:

Inkscape tutorial:

Thanks Genete.
Those results look pretty darn good! Also Inkscape itself looks extremely awesome.

+1 for InkScape.

Might need some practice, but after a while results will be as desired. Also, InkScape (Potrace) has some interesting options, quite usable in character preparation. You may find some of these in tutorial that Genete posted.

I used the guy in my post above and when I downloaded as EPS and upload into AS I get this. Any reasons why?

Is the EPS file properly readable with any other application?
