Fix point that THINKS it is the end of a line

I have a point "node" that thinks it is the end of a line when it is in the middle of one. At least it acts like a closed shape other than STROKE. Being new to AS used Corel up to now, I might be missing something. I have read all the help and gone from start to finish in the FORUM. Wow there is a lot in here to go back and read. So here is what I have.

How do I fix this? I have tried:
Deleting it and "welding" the two points on either side together.
Gone into wire frame to see if there is something else there, There isn't that I can see.
Adding new points on either side, moving the bad one up and welding the two new ones together. Then deleting the bad one.
Nothing seems to make a corrective change.

Thanks Steve E.

Try using the line width tool on those points to fatten them up so they better match the outline. It looks like you used the free-hand tool to make the shape and had the random width and tapered ends option on.

I can get them to match but there is still a little white space on one side or the other. Then if I try to animate in that area they will open up more as the shape moves.

i think the only way is to delete the point and reconnect the ones around it. This seems to happen only when you put together mulitple shapes with intersecting points and delete lines around the intersection to break them appart...
