After learning the shade feature in the style tools and tweaks and re-tweaks and pulling out of hair....
Here is a character I made in AS.
I need to redo the hands so that I can rig all the fingers to move and other than facial expressions I think he's in good shape. I'll bee making the 1/4, side and back view as well.

For my taste the back and shoulders are a bit narrow. He needs a more defined V-shape torso. He is actually 6,5 heads tall that doesn't fit the minimum of the basic human proportions (8 heads tall). The arms looks like if they bend backwards or that belongs to a person watched from his back. Otherwise the overall drawings and colour scheme is fine.

Thanks Genete, I'm very glad you pointed out the mistakes. All very good points. I'll fix the shoulders and arms now.
I was looking at my book "Kodomo Manga" before I started and wanted to alter the normal human proportions but not so much that the character had a giant head. Do the proportions make him look bad (sloppy), Or just different?
I wish there was a way to have Maya's hyper-graph (hierarchy). It's going to get messy.

Nice design and colors! In addition to widening the shoulders, I'd suggest narrowing the hips. The other thing is that the body art is more bold/graphic than the face art. I think the character's expression would read more clearly with bolder features and less detailed shadows. But if you want to go for the more detailed look, you could reduce the color contrast in the body so that the eye is drawn to the face a bit more. Nice work! :D

Thanks again for the feed back. I made several tweaks and it was getting kind of late but I wanted to play around with the proportions and see what felt better. Image in original post.
Other than the really long arms I like the more accurate human proportions character but he still has issues. The thighs are also probably a bit narrow.
The middle one could still use work in the rib cage area. Even though it's not accurate I still like him. And as mentioned I should take in the hips (drawn to many women)
Ignore the line weight on the head of the anime version (it was late and still only a test). I like it but my friend may not because he is hesitant about anime styles.
ps
I forgot the eyebrows. Will need to fix that later.
