Scale Compensation Boundaries

I would love it if AS allowed users to apply scale compensation that only compensated the line width within a user defined range.
I think most people don't want the lines to get infinitely thin or infinitely thick. If you could specify, for example, that the line should never be thinner than 3 and never thicker than 8, that would be really helpful!
It would greatly reduce the need for multiple models to handle close ups and long shots like this.
