Reusing content made in Anime Studio jr, keyframe removal

Hi all, I have recently upgraded from Anime studio to Anime pro. I made a couple of characters in Anime studio and they open in Pro no problem. What I'm trying to find out is how to make the characters reusable, and also to get rid of previous keyframes I made.

In the previous animation program I used, Toonboom, you simply created your 'puppet' and dragged it's file into the 'library' - is there an equivilent here?

In toonboom they cautioned against having any keyframes when you saved your 'puppet' template, I'm assuming it's the same with AS_pro. Is there a quick and easy way to remove all previous keyframes without wrecking the rigging etc?

thanks in advance

Erasing Key Frames

There are a couple of ways to remove the key frames.

1. There is a menu item called "remove animation from layer"
This will remove all keys from the currently selected layer and possibly the sub layers. I don't have the program in front of me so the wording of the menu item may be slightly different.

2. There is a menu item called "remove animation from Entire document"
This will remove all keys from all layers in the document.

3. Click and drag in the time-line to select all of the key frames for the current layer. Then click the delete button. This is a better option if you wish to retain key frames you have created within actions.

Hope this helps.

You can save your animations as actions before erase them. I usually make this, many movements can be reused.

Thanks guys! I'm not sure what 'save your animations as actions' is yet but I'll look it up.

Selgin, how do you save an existing animation as an action?

I've just started working with actions and it seems like you need to create new animation keyframes for each action. It doesn't even seem possible to duplicate actions.

Is there a way to take keyframes from the main timeline and paste them into an action?

Cheers,
Muffy.

Argh! Thanks, Selgin!

Totally not obvious, but still logical.
