bone angle to select a switch layer

Think of switch layers being different numbers on a clock face, and the closest number pointed to by the bone become the selected layer of the switch.

Has a script been written to do this? I think it could really speed up animation.

I've searched the forum, and found a thread where it was discussed, but haven't tracked one down.

If anyone knows of one, I'd greatly appreciate a link.

I think this has been done.

I cant really remember but i think the script is called a dial clock or something.
