What are the target audience for your forum?
there are already a few general animation forums, in what way will yours differ from these?

We dont really have a target audience however most of our members are younger people such as myself but the mod is 21(also my brother so good comunication skills there:)) but by this thread i was hoping to get more older poeple you know people in there 20's onto the forum.
we are working on making the site easy for use so those people that may just start are not like where do i go plus I'm going to get the other admin to change the text colour as black on dark grey isn't very helpfull
Its diffrent because if you find i new animation program you can hook an admin up and we will add a category unless theres a few expections to that.if the forum however has too many "sub forums" then we would have categorys like 2D animation,3d and so on then have sub sub forums in the sub forum for the programs.
any more questions?
Edit:
id also like to add the fact we have a 21 year old mod as most forums i go on have 2 year olds as mods, i dont know the mods on here so im not judging them but most the forums the mods act like two year olds.
Update: anoying black text on dark grey background is gone.

Yes... replaced with annoying blue text on a gray background.
Keep it simple dude. Look at this forum. How popular is it? How EASY is it to READ?
They have done studies on readability of web sites... Not quite black text on a not quite white background is the most readable with the most "retention" of content. Don't get funky with the text and background colors for sites that are based almost ENTIRELY on READING the content. Keep it simple. Dark on light is still the best for reading. Reversed out text is very hard to read.
It can still look good.
