Cycling question

Hi. I'm working on an animation that will have my character repeat a certain set of actions (a dance) while moving across the screen. I tried copying 'translate layer' keyframes to act like a cycle, but the animation object starts at the beginning. How do I fix this?

Hmm...

Go to frame 0 make a group layer, then drag the dancing man into the group layer. Don't translate layer on the man, but on the group layer, across the screen. Just have the guy dancing in a cycle, but make the group layer move across the screen.

Copy and paste the keyframes on the timeline (like you did). You now have the original dance and a copied dance appearing on the timeline.

Turn on the Onionskins feature. Add an onionskin to the last frame of the original dance.

Choose the Translate Layer tool. Move the Timeslider on the timeline to the last frame of the original dance. Click on an empty area of the work area with the Translate Layer tool; this will add a keyframe to that frame. (This is very important.)

Now move the Timeslider to first frame of the copied dance.

Using the Translate Layer tool, move the dancer forward in the work area until he is on top of the onion skin.

That may work for you. It works for me.

EDIT: (Posted too slow.) Or do what Mikdog said. :)

Neat-o.

When I test a feature, I usually only make a blob shape and move it around.

I do that too, but sometimes I get creative!
