I think this will make easy to work.
When lower shape, Raise shape and Hide edge tool keys are available at the timeline.

I have got the script now. May be this is my mistake. More points needed to finish.

i know, i'm late to the party, but i never even thought of doing shape ordering like this! this simple yet effective technique needs ressurection!
