is it vector?

No, it's not vector. It's cel-shaded 3D.

I haven't posted anything recently, but I thought I would share this rather vector-looking result from iClone:

Note that the source file is digital-cinema resolution, 2048x858.

In fact, consider it false-color. I intend to use color replacement to harmonize it with my scene.

You may remember Fred--he drives those horses.

I have been hacking various ways to trick iClone into producing cel-shaded video.

I used techniques similar to the horses for Fred, but the process of global color replacement throughout the sequence turned out to be far more time-consuming. It required a lot of hand touch ups (no pun intended, considering that I've got some flashing on the character's hands that I will try to just live with).

I can see that you have been working hard on this! The flashing on the hands is more noticeable because his hands are perfectly still. Flashing is much harder to pick up in a moving shot...

OK, guys, it's finally all coming together now!

Checkout this early "rush": two drivers, two horses, and a swaying omnibus built on top of the Reallusion wagon.

In addition to swaying in counterpoint to the omnibus, the two drivers are actually interacting using the Communication Pack and Look At.

What do you think of this gold-violet color scheme to indicate gaslight?

Imagine this rolling out of the mist under streetlights . . .

Note that the original is Digital Cinema format: 2048 x 858 pixels. You can actually see the expressions on their faces.
