Good digital art tutorials (not about Anime Studio)

The links on the site referenced above go deeper than one might expect.
For example, there's a forum where this bright artist is teaching folks the foundation of good character design--readability of poses, character uniqueness, the use of light-dark values to convey info... and that's just the first few lessons that I have seen.
