Snow particle

Hello everyone,

This is not so much a 'how do I' as a 'why does it'.

I've imported the AS snow particle and it works fine except once rendered, the snowflakes appear blurred and as if having a reduced opacity.

It's not a major problem as I can recreate one, but I can't see how this is happening as the opacity is 100% on the particle layer and all vectors within, and there is no obvious blurring applied.

I'm guessing there's something fairly simple and maybe obvious I'm missing but someone opening my eyes to it would be great.

Thanks

If you check the style of the shapes, you will see that the fills have a soft edge effect.

Thanks

I did wonder if it might be that but when I checked the style, the 'effect' menu said 'none'.

Mmm, did you have one of the snowflake shapes selected?

Yes.

It's something I often experience. I apply an effect from the menu, then when I return to it, the menu has reverted to 'plain' although the effect is still there when I render.

I took it as normal, and perhaps a minor bug!

I've never had that happen, so I wouldn't be willing to call it a bug unless it could be duplicated by someone else. The fill effect shows as <plain> even while it renders soft edge and the shape is showing that checkerboard pattern that indicates it is selected?

If so, I'd have to assume a problem with the installation.

Dale

Thanks for that.

The effect of the shifting layers of snow looks good – apart from an orderly 'queue' that appears a few second in.
