Starting Papagayo files where you want.

The biggest problem I have with papagayo is that when you input the .dat file it erases everything on that frame and you can't start it where you want.

Here's a quick workaround.

Use Papagayo like normal, export to the .dat file.

In AS, select the mouth layer and create a new action. Name it something you will associate with the soundbite, name it soundbite_1 if you want.

Verify you are on the action timeline of the mouth layer. Double click the mouth layer to open up the properties. Go to switch tab and input the file as normal. It will be saved in the action time line instead of the normal timeline.

Go to your Actions palatte and double click on the main timeline to go back to normal. Now you can insert the phenomes in any frame you want.

I just started doing this. So if you have any problems with this let me know or want me to explain it better.

Good luck

Nice tip. It's always good to get fresh eyes on a problem. I'm assuming you'd use this mainly if you composite your audio in another app. Now if we only had audio layers that could be turned off until a chosen frame.

audio layers :)

I can't imagine it being such a big deal to code into the source. Sound is such an important part of animation and clips/effects more so than a background sound track.

Is there *anyone* working on/with the source code?
I get the impression that Mike Clifton is THE MAN - but, then, if my bicycle had four wheels, it would be a car. Hello world.

Papagayo and JNandC's tip seem a good enough workaround for now.

pen sil in hand and pen sive in mind - will I ever be able to draw hands?

cheers - arfa

Only AS Pro has actions. So yes this only works with Pro.
