Hey everyone, after trying to absorb all the knowledge here (like trying to take drink of water from an open fire hydrant) and fiddling around I made this test animation for a character I'm working on, called Doug the Dog.
I still need a few things like more expression and some eyelids. Its a work in progress. I appreciate any comments.

Nice animation! Looks good to me. I think it would look better if it was a little more detailed, but that would just make it harder to animate. I like how you made the dog stand on its four legs and then bend down. It looked correctly done. All in all great job. Looks like your new to this forum, so i give you a warm welcome to the best forum ever!(in my opinion)

You've put a lot of character into that pooch. Fine use layers etc. Maybe you should have him drinking from an open fire hydrant

Very nicely done. Pretty convincing 2.5D effect. The only thing I'd suggest is making the body parts/shapes less distinct. Like with hide edge or line width tools.

Good observation synthsin. Didn't notice that. You should try hiding some edges on that "pooch"(hehe). That might make it look more real and believeable.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Its not completely done, I still have to play around with the line widths around some of the shapes. The most challenging part was the bone setup. I wanted to set-up a rig that would go front front to profile on the head, but I decided to keep it simple while I learn the basics. And yes, this forum has been my main source of information.
