I want to import my characters, but I don't have photoshop. Can I still import an image with a tranperent background? Might paint.net work?

I don't work with photoshop, I use corel photopaint. many users here use gimp to create and edit their images, you can download it here

use PNG format to import image with alpha... ofcourse the background has to be transparent in your editting program first (or you have to have an alpha channel) - either of which problems are not relevant to this forum
