I posted yesterday about duplicating an action, and got the solution that works great, but here's a little bit different thing. Is there a way to make an action from keyframes in the main timeline? If I've done something in the timeline that works really well and i'd like to convert it to an action so it can be used again, can that be done? I tried copying keyframes and pasting them into a new action, but that didn't work.

Also, (and this may be in the manual but I've overlooked it) can Actions be imported from another file?

It's the same process - use the Insert Copy button to copy from the mainline to the new action.
