this is my first post here so hello to everone.
I got my Anime Studio Pro a week ago and I'm so excited.
I haven't done much animation before but I try very hard to learn.
here's my first animation (other than doing tutorials). It's not a long one..

Thanks for comments!
I made another one. Still trying to get hang of it all.
I haven't tried bones yet at all - it's made by moving points. I know bones would be a lot easier. Will try them next.

Nice. I could have sworn that you used bone dynamics for that hair.

And hello again.

I decided not to start a new thread for my first animation experiments but I keep posting here my moments of joy in learning to animate in ASP.
My first walkcycle ever. This time I used bones. Somehow all my characters look the same..
Here's the walkcycle:

Putting a little motion in the torso and head will make it look a little less robotic, otherwise good first effort.

Thanks synthsin75 for comments
I tried one other tutorial I found and tried really hard to make the movement more lively.
It's not perfect but I'm happy with the result.

I also tried out lipsync.. I used Papagayo to break down the speech. It's not made with switch layers though - next time I'll try those..

Yay!

Much better walk cycle. The head even appears to sway from side to side a bit. The only pointer I'd give you on the lip-sync is that holding the 'U' mouth position through the long pause looks a little odd. I'd use a 'rest' or some other expression there.
Very nice progress you're making.

Nice ones!.
Just one comment on the lip sync scene. Make some eye blinks and don't move pupils continuously. Normal pupil movements are steps or combined with a eye blink. Never a continuous movement unless they are following a moving object (even then they move in steps).
Good lip sync anyway.

Wow - so many replys! Thanks for comments!
synthsin75: You're right! Now that you mentioned it the U-position does indeed take too long. I hadn't even noticed it before you pointed it out.
Genete: I had trouble deciding on where to point those eyes. I really should have added the blinking - you're right. Shame on... ... shame on me..?
spooze!: Thanks!
It's so amazing how much more effective learning is when given feedback.
I'm still only getting used to the interface and the keyframe's look like a mess in timeline window. If I get anything look good at this point I'm sure it's more luck than skill

He he, you'll have to live with that...

The "selected" channel (bones corresponding channel or points movement) would make your life easier. That, combined with Named Point Groups would be a big help.
