I love the style of the drawing. Excellent! Did you use particles for the smoke? Part of the smoke looked like particles and part looked like a drawing.

Yes, I used particles for the smoke. In fact, I used only particles for the smoke - it was a variation of the smoke script that comes with moho 5.
