Vampire Hunter Z

(I'll just copy more or less what I said on deviantart about this)

I made a little animated film as a birthday present for my friend Zoe, which you can watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79jV0AW0E1U

It's pretty much a string of in jokes centered around a series of bizarre vampire stories that Zoe and Chanelle wrote about me and my friend Jeremy (who I normally make animations with) so much of the humour will be lost on most people but it does also contain references to Dragonball Z, Evangelion, Fonejacker, Jane and the Dragon, Johnny Depp/Jack Sparrow, the X movie, Utena, Cardcaptor Sakura, Harry Potter, Transformers, Vampire Hunter D, Smashing Pumpkins, Soulja Boy, Sean Kingston and Bono. So there's something for everyone.

:)

so yeah... this is all very silly and stuff but I put a lot of hard work into it so I thought I'd share it anyway.

There's also a movie poster for it on deviantart: http://springymajig.deviantart.com/art/ ... r-88685908

crapulous!

I'm impressed. There's a lot of clever stuff in there, and you seem to know how to handle the program pretty well. Not much character movement, but it's all in the right places and carries the expression. The dance! And the other guy just nodding the head in the right way! I like details like that.

Thanks :) Yeah I was definitely relying on limited animation tricks of trying to do the most of very little... and to be honest I was hoping some of that would add to the humour too :P I was pretty happy with the dance even if it is a little stiff cos I didn't think I'd have time to learn the dance moves and animate it!

BTW.... that's meant to be a girl at the end :P

That was fun!

I didn't get a lot of the references, but I didn't mind. I like how you animated a person sliced in half--how one half of the body fell like a 2D sheet of cardboard. HA! Nice character designs, too.

What an awesome birthday present.
