Easier render focus

Post by synthsin75 »

I often need to render closer views of parts of a character I'm working on. The problem is, to do this I have to keep tracking and zooming the camera. Then reset and track/zoom elsewhere.

It would be really helpful if ASP could maybe gave me the option to control the camera through my workspace view. In other words, zoom the camera with the mouse wheel and track with RMB. Maybe only on frame zero.

Or...use an optional marquee selection to define the render zone, much like you can define playback segments in the timeline.

Maybe if the camera controls are accessible to the scripting interface, a sort of universal camera control could be made.

If anyone knows any 'tricks' that may speed this up, please let me know.

No, it's not just you. However, the problems with the renderer go much deeper than partial rendering. It is just dog slow, and it shouldn't have to be.

Mmm, I haven't had any trouble with the render speed yet, but I'm only working on the characters so far. No full scenes yet.
