Hey everyone,
My name is Wes Abrams. I am the creator of the site ToonLifeOnline.com which also includes ToonTube. I originally created the site to showcase my original work. But i've expanded that a little bit with adding ToonTube and ToonArtist. ToonTube is a place for all animators to share their work. I have been focusing so much on making my website that I haven't been able to work on my animations a whole lot. All of my animations are done with Anime Studio. Here is my Gallery http://toontube.toonlifeonline.com/watc ... YVD3KN30MV
Any feedback will be great. Good or bad. I don't have any experience with animation. My wife bought be Anime Studio last year for Christmas. I did the tutorials that came with it. These are what I have produced so far. Toon Life was the first one I did. It is really long. I have it broken up into 2 parts. Also I only have the cheap version of it. I also would like to know if it is worth paying the $149 to upgrade to the pro version.

Thanks

Wes Abrams

I checked out your gallery.

Nice job! I particularly like the "Adventures of Stickman" and "Johnny Stop" animations. Nice original drawing style and use of shots. The sound effects and music editing really add a "punch" to those animations.

Did you do all the shots for each animation video in one Anime file or did you piece together individual Anime files in another program for the final animation video? I know you spoke about one of your animation videos being too long and having to break it up into two separate videos.

BTW, how do you export your animations out of Anime? What option do you use? We use Quicktime Sorenson 3 medium compression for our animations. Just curious, because I like the colors in your animations.

I would really like to see more "Adventures of Stickman" animations. I watched all of them and I enjoyed his various "misadventures."

Keep on creating your original animations -- they made me smile. :D

Oops -- I forgot to answer your question if it is worth upgrading to Anime Pro.

We bought the pro version mainly because it allows you to animate longer than 3000 frames. We are freaky in that we average between 1500 and 3200 frames per Anime file -- so we needed the pro version.

I really don't know what other options the pro version has over the standard version as I have never used the standard version.

If the standard version works for you now, why not stick with it? Like all software there are quirks with Anime Pro. I guess it all depends if you don't mind spending the extra money in order to have the "premium" version.

Personally, I have my doubts that there will be a new and improved version of Anime Pro anytime soon. Maybe the "developers" are working on it as we speak. It would be nice if they would fix some bugs and add extra options people here on this forum have been asking for.

I guess only time will tell. Maybe you should wait and see if Anime Pro 5 is upgraded (to 6 or whatever) in the next few months before you decide to upgrade from the standard version.

Well like I said I use Anime Studio for all the actual animating. I export them out with the Quicktime Sorenson 3 best compression option. I use Magix Movie edit pro 11 to do the editing and I use cakewalk Music Creator Pro24 to do the Audio. All of the Audio is Original besides Adventures of Stickman Episode 4. I got that Star Wars music off the internet. And also the sound effects for Smiley I didn't do myself. I also got that off of the internet from http://www.soundsnap.com/ It is a really cool site for sound effects and stuff. They are all free.

I do the "Adventures of Stickman" episodes all in one Anime Studio File.

The "Johnny Stop" episodes are pieced together because I only have the basic Anime Studio version. I can only export movies with a maximum of like 2 minutes.

Same thing with "WAFR Radio" and "Toon Life." I add a pitch shifter to the voices of Weasel and Fred from WAFR Radio using Cakewalk. Some people have told me they are hard to understand. Maybe I should add subtitles.

"Toon Life" is actually my favorite. "Toon Life (from loser to hero)" which is also Episode 1 is the long one I was talking about. I originally created it as like a pilot to submit to a Television station. However after watching it a few times I realized it wasn't as good as I thought. The full length of it is 22 minutes long. I had to do a total of 13 scenes in anime studio and hours of Recording audio. I do all the voices besides Amy and Grace. My wife does those. I even do the grandma voice... haha.. I also did a Christmas Episode Where the Gang sings a song. I wanted this to be like a South Park style series but without all the adult content. I have like 3 full half an hour shows all scripted out. I'm still going to do these episodes but just cut them down around 7 to 10 minutes per episode. I would love to have like an animation studio and be able to produce these episodes with better quality and a lot faster. It's tough to do so much by yourself. I live in Northern Indiana and there are like no animators around here.

Thanks for nice things you said about my animations. :D I'm actually working on new "WAFR Radio" and "Adventures of Stickman" Episodes
