Anime Studio for motion graphics?

Hi, I'm interested in purchasing Anime Studio primarily to dabble in motion graphics. I know it's not a dedicated motion graphics tool, but it seems quite versatile (and much cheaper than After Effects, although I realise Anime Studio is not competing against AE).

I'd like to learn how to make elements spin, zoom in and out, pan across etc. - nothing particularly complicated.

What does everyone think of using AS for this type of work? What are people's opinions of the particle system?

Thanks

Of course AS will enable you to create the usual motion graphic effects. But don't expect it to handle text gracefully - if you need to work a lot with text, go for Flash.
