After a month of server problems when my ISP disappeared, I now have the site back up on a different provider.

Machine Masters can be found here.

The rest of the site is about my current and past work.

Sorry for the outage, it's been frustrating for everyone.

Congratulations Rhoel. I hope we can see more animations from you. Your animation quality is excellent and your work is very educative for those who watch it. :D

I especially like the combination of 2D and 3D elements. The visual effect of space is excellent. Not to mention that the story is REALLY WELL DONE. Good job!

Its all 2D with the exception of the 3D key in the back of the wind up toy - really didn't want to spend days animating that - blender provided the solution .. Has the new 'bake' option been available, I might have used that for the key.

The machines are just 2d planes turned 90 degrees then repositioned - too about a week just to get those sorted out. Duplicating the machines was easy as is placing them on the Z-axis.

In HD, you can read heaps of stupid stuff on the console, from LEDs which flash indicating storyboards departments cigarettes consumed, the number of script re-writes, to rude comments about Micro$oft operating systems - I got bored that day and I had to add something next to the flashing lights and other meters.

I'm still not 100% happy with the machine internal timing, but I am unlikely to go back to rework it now - I now work for another company and ownership of copyright is iffy.

BTW, this started out as an animation test - the original idea was to do the entire film as a single shot: The file sizes of the first free scenes exceeded 45M so I ran out of machine resources. One day, I'll find the right subject to do it with.
