Genete!
I didn't try downloading the zipfile, only the first video file. the zip files MAY be okay to download!
I will try it now!
Genete wrote:Dang it!
I have Firefox (2.0 or higer) and no problem with the zip files (using Ubuntu linux 6.10 now).
Don't try to open directly. First make a "save as" and open later. Perhaps it could help.
...
(((Mmmmm.... Change to linux boys!

Genete, the download prematurely stopped ... like the video files for me.
I will try that REALLY SMALL DL manager that DK introduced to me now

You can try this one. It is really small also. It is published under
GNU General Public license

Hurraaaa!!
I have just downloaded again the zipped files and they are OK. You can be sure that zip files are sane.
No regarding to the tutorial itself...
Everyone understand everything?????
Waiting your appreciated comments.

i'm sorry genete, but i could download only the four first videos. tutorial 5 and 6 can't be downloaded for me.
anyway, so far it's really clear and i can understand all you are saying in the videos. i hope that native speakers can too.
if a technique as yours looks so simple as in this videos, this means that you are doing them well.
i still trying.

Hi selgin,
Thanks for continue trying to download. The files are OK. I have downloaded them and they work. I have just seen tutorial number 6 complete a few minutes ago. Now I'll watch the number 5 complete again. I have cleaned up the cache of Firefox to avoid it to use an already existing file in my hard disk. Remember also to download ALL of them before watch it.

And also would be sane to download a file every time if not you can overload the bandwidth and the server cuts you the stream to serve to another user.
I'm having an average of 100 - 150 KB/sec while download the file (my maximum download speed from my internet provider is 470 KB/sec) what is a good speed....
... I have experienced a corrupt file in the part 1b of the tutorial 5. I have downloaded the file again and the video is correct....
05-1a OK
05-1b OK
05-2a1 OK
05-2b1 OK
05-2b2 ...
Hehe... I have received a message: "
The bandwidth for this site have been exceeded"
((((¡¡¡¡Joder!!!!!)))) Sorry it is a Spanish expression for frustration...
What can I do now????
Buaaaaaaaaa

I have added a torrent link to the tutorial 05-part1a. It have a blue frog in the link.
Please visit my webpage and let me know if you can download the file.
Also please let opened the torrent manager to let other users download the file with more seeds.
This is frustrating!!!!!
I'll maintain my computer plugged on. I have a dynamic IP address but the configuration of my torrent server (Azureus) assured me that a tracker would update it every time I connect to the server.
Hope it works...
FORGET IT!!. IT WILL NOT WORK. TORRENT HAS BEEN REMOVED.
Snif! Buaaa aaa a aaaaaah!!!!

Genete THANK YOU. I finally figured it out. All I can say is: AMAZING.
Here's my first 2.5D rig:
http://darthfurby.com/darthrigger.html
http://darthfurby.com/darthrigger.anme
It's a blue potato chip.
Your videos made the difference. Everything is clear. Thank you so much Genete!!!
After I finish up my video tutorials I'll begin work on a more advanced rig. WHEW!!!
DK - I'm still absorbing the concepts but once I've got it all down I'll try to explain this in a way the rest of us can absorb.
Touched - I'd sure love to try a raster head turn! There are some really sophisticated algorithms behind raster morphing that I don't really understand myself, but it works amazingly well on live action footage which is far more detailed and less forgiving than digital art, and it's done with very primitive vector point motion. Anime Studio is state of the art vector point motion. If they add those pixel calculating algorithms for bitmap morphing then I think we will see things in 2d animation that nobody has ever seen before. But I wonder how much it costs to hire a morph technician. They'd probably have to raise the price of Anime Studio, especially with all the other features everyone is looking for.

Your comments afraid me Darth... You mean to apply the 3D rig to
every pixel of a raster image???

shock:
You need 15 bones to rotate a point in 3D. 15 for only a point!!!! for a raster image of 40x40 points you'll need ... 40x40x15=24000 bones! ...
---------------------
Once you understand how to do it your mind starts to boil thinking only in a 3D way!!! Isn't it? It could be unappropriated that I say it but, YES it is amazing.
Darth, have a look to the 3D hand... It is ... spectacular!!! You can concatenate springy mechanisms in different rotation axis/angles so you can do what ever you want!!! It is perfect for animals characters what would have less expressions than humans (for example fishes or birds).
I'm very happy, really very very happy.
Thanks to you for the effort of learning.
All what I can say is: YOU'RE WELCOME
Best

OMG...I think I understand what's going on now thanks to Genete's tutorial video's and finally Darth's Potato Chip file. Am I corerect in saying that each point must have it's own bone parented to it's own springy mechanism rig to perform 3D rotation? If that is the case then I finally do understand what's going on but it scares me a bit to think of how many bones it would take to do a full character rig!!! It's quite brilliant that you even thought of this concept Genete. I am so sorry for all the trouble you have had but it has surely been worth it for the whole AS forum.

I'm very dissapointed with the forum management over this. They have not lifted one finger to help Genete with his difficulties in hosting the video tutorials. I know if Mike had been around he would have offered to host them within the first few posts of this thread as has done in the past. Looks like we're all officially on our own from now on.
D.K
NOT neccesary each point should have its own 3D rig springy chains. It coul be a group of them (or a bone layer with its own 3D rig skeleton...). If you have a look to the 3D hand, I have rigged only the central point of each joint. It is a question of 3D imagination. Less points rigged more point movement needed. I think a proper combination of both will give the best result, if not the model is "so rigged". An example of a fully rigged model is the 3d eye.
Regarding to the hosting of the video tutorials I have asked help to Fahim last night (a few hours ago - I have sleeped only 4,5 hours -). I have just received an email from him supporting the hosting of the files. Anyway any other help would be welcome.
I have shown Fahim all this stuff by email. He replied me this:
Mike had a look at your stuff and he mentioned to me that it was really cool. So good job, keep it up.
so don't think "we're all officially on our own from now on". That's not true (almost from my point of view). Since I have offered to be a beta tester for the linux version I have received a lot of support from Fahim and its team. Perhaps you can feel a little unsupported lately but consider that they are in a big challenge making AnimeStudio rule in the market. We should give them a second chance.
I have recived the final release candidate version of AS Pro for linux and they have corrected some bugs and improved notabley the help files. Also the have included the trial version (very limited because you cannot export nothing and a water mark is shown in the render shot) but fully plenty of all the main PRO tools. 30 days limited trial.
Keep connected. Hope soon a mirror would hold the video tutorials... and more lessons are coming!.
Cheers!

That's great news on the hosting Genete and I withdraw my comments. It's good to hear that Mike is still around too.
