Nay whole armies I say.
Beasties with guns that shoot particles of beastie legions which spew forth in cascades of living , fighting animated cartoon robots,, mwaahahaaaa.
I can feel pesky rules are inevitable ...sigh
But seriously, for the folks at home, you can import your own 3d models into poser, rig them there for ASPRO. Its not complicated at all even though poser7 is generally a little(cough) awkward to say the least.
So this is all looks pretty sweet except I guess, just need to see more render evidence.
We will have to see.

Send over a Poser model and I ll render it for you!
I also grabed the dinosaurs package, looks good, the new 2D shaders for 3D models are better then in 6.x.

That's not ,supernatural, you're clearly using invisible ,vector shapes from the cross shaped particle emitter GCharb!
Must say it washed away my cartoon robot armies like a tsunami.
This physics thing could be fantastic.
Now can I sit a regular vector character on say a poser horse , probably only to the layer level huh?
So poser character picking up stuff might be a challenge.
Thanks GCharb if I get time- I'd have to rig it fully first, might be too late for that.

Anyone else having trouble entering in your serial number??

by rdstreets
I just purchased and downloaded the new version of AS7 however when I enter my new serial number at the prompt it states:
"Serial number could not be saved - be sure to run Anime Studio as an administrative user when entering serial number"..
I triple checked and I am already signed on my Apple G5 iMac as an Admin so am not sure what else I'm supposed to do.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Playing around with physics and bones with motors...
I honestly believe I could actually create a walk cycle generator. Using the physics motor properties and keying motor speed over time I think this is doable. The key to it would be locking the tip of some bones and offsetting the motion of the leg bones to create alternating syncronized walking motion. It wouldn't actually walk "for real" just simulate the motion of walking. I don't know if there are any scripting functions for physics... that would help to adjust the speed of all the bones at one time.
It will require some hard brain thinking. I may have to move some files around in the old gray matter. I don't think I need those reruns of Fantasy Island anymore.

I do not think you need them!
On the subject of scripting, is there a Lua command reference somewhere on the furum, or anywhere else?
I am beginning to get a grasp of Lua, real easy scripting language, but I cannot find much to work with as far as ASP is concerned.
Is there a recent sdk or something?
Thanks

Maybe try
http://www.lua.org/manual/5.1/manual.html, but I too have wondered if there's a manual re ASP specifically so I can learn.

The only "official" script reference I have is from version 5.0 back in the moho days. This can be downloaded from the script forum here. It is set of HTML pages categorized. Since then there have been some very small changes but not officially documented.
Version 6 was the last major update to the script reference. There were a few cool things added but not as much as us scripters hoped for. I have absolutely no idea what script additions have been added to 7 if any. I don't have any documentation. I think the best enhancement to the scripting in V6 was the update of the lua engine to 5... something. It was the latest version of Lua at the time.
I have a set of text files that Mike gave me new script features for v6 back during that beta testing. I will check with Mike to see if it's okay to put it up somewhere.
Be warned though, tt has very little instructions or explanation at all. Probably less than the html reference for v5. I was able to use it because I'm pretty familiar with how stuff works and was able to "guess" how things worked. A new reference is past due I think. However the Moho 5.0 reference is more than enough to get started.
Another trick is to look at the tool and menu scripts that are in AS. Those are the same thing you would be creating. ou can find lots of samples here on the forum for layer scripts.
Download and study that HTML scripting reference available in the script forum. I love that thing. Very helpful. You read that and compare it to scripts in AS or you find here to see how to use it.

Hello Vern
Thanks for the infos, I have looked at some of the scripts, seems very linear, will get the html files and will dig up all I can about Lua.
I ordered a Lua scripting book (Programming in Lua second edition) that should help and will talk to the forum scripters.
