Hey DK,
I see everyone's sayin' how smooth of a tutorial it was, but your link brings me to 404Error land. :( I'd like to see it too. Can you help me? 8) New scribbler on the block folks, new to AS anyway but it's been fun thus far, luv the skeleton feature!!! Next i will be adding Nose, ears, blinking, Mouth switch layer, expressions etc etc. If anyone is interested in learning how to do this please let me know and I will make up a tutorial.

Hey DK,
I'm working on a site that kind of showcases what we all love to do here and was wondering would you mind if I link to or embed (blah, blah), some of your informative material accrediting the rightful donor for the info to fellow artists and animators alike. You know the whole bit, tutorial section, animation, section (blah, blah).?

DK wrote:Hi! I'm very excited about this development.
There are still only 4 bones controlling this model!
The new bone setup allows the head to achieve even greater flexibility in it's rotations. It can be rotated in any direction now without any unwanted plane distortions to the vectors Also the new bone setup allows a perfect rotation that minimalizes any distortion and it is a model that is extremely solid to work with!

@*&% unbelievable!!!!
An amazing show of what you can do with the functionality of this program. My hats off to you. B4 I ask where is this skeleton at I'll finish looking through your TUT post.

The latest post is a refinement to the entire technique using scale rotate modeling.

Scale rotate modelling allows you to create any front to profile shape simulation of you need using bones. Other aspects like adding hair, ears, up and down movement and scripts are cool contributions by other members scattered throughout this thread.

DK wrote:Vern. I don't mind in the least if you make some money out of this. I would love to see your characters available on Content Paradise featuring this rig. My passion is to have a standard 3D model engine available for everyone to use. One that is simple for the likes of me to understand. Imagine how powerful your scripting can make this model?

BTW.
I have made a mouth.
This mouth is a full working switch layer.

http://www.wienertoonz.com/3DHmouth.swf

Can anyone figure out how I did this?
No fancy scripts or bones used. Just a plain old switch layer split in half and each side parented to extra control bones that work off the angle bone constraints. This maintains the symmetry of the face rotation. I animated the first half of the mouth in the switch layer then copy and fliped it. easy as pie.

And here is the anme file

AHHHH!!!
DK, you've got my full attention with this technic, however your link is broken to the mouth anime file. The guy a damn genius! Give me the recipe, please.
And yes, I've noticed that there are some outstanding people in this community! That's why I love it here. I hope my interest doesn't bother you. I'm not a kiss (blank), I just give up whats due, to all of you.
