do you actually use the vectors within moho to design your characters?

Or do you import png+alpha etc?

RonC
Hi RonC,

We design our characters outside of Moho, just a normal sketch. Then we import the image and build the models with Moho, (using the drawing and paint tools) The we add the bone system.

We build very comprehensive models, taking into account all of the motion we'll want to produce with that character.

The reason why the animation works so well is because we believe in thorough preperation. If you plan everything out carefully the model can do pretty much anything.

Our Pleasure Max99

We'd like to thank everyone for their kind words for our work.

We have a new project going live very soon...

We'll post a link when we are ready with it.

Also we are starting a new film very shortly, a 65 minute production. We are thinking of producing a 'works in progress' thread on the forum. We'll keep you posted.

Hi Guys,

We've just finished our new film.

You'll need to download the latest version of Quicktime (a link is on the page)

Let us know what you think.

Th bunny one is so bland compared to the "gone in 60 seconds" clip.

That gone in 60 seconds clip is definately my fav of your work.

The voices in it are great and hillarious, esspecially the guy in green.

I can watch it over and over

That was amazing! That band was very lucky to get you guys. Excellent use of lighting/saturation effects on the forest and "lamps." The white backlight effect on everything was also a nice touch. Once the camera trucked in to the "night club" my jaw was on the floor all the way to the end. And as an added bonus you used my favorite compositing ap to pull it off: After Effects! How long was this in production? With Moho doing the animation I'm guessing one guy could pull that off in about 3 months. Pretty much impossible to get that kind of turnover before Moho came along.

Anyway loved it!

Thanks Postality,

GISS is a series that's in production, we're making 20x1 minute episodes.

Beatbox (the green guy) is voiced by Africa, a legendary Hip Hop artist from The Jungle Brothers.

The other 2 guys (Skratch and Hoop) are voice by me, not a legendary Hip Hop artist, unfortunately!!

Thanks DarthFurby, nice of you to say!

Actually it was Discreet's Combustion that was used for compositing (they are practically the same now) The backgrounds were set up in a 3d space, the animation from moho was rendered out seperately and placed with the work space. We then used a 3d camera to give us more freedom with the shots. All in all the production lasted around 4 months. The design, model building and animation only took 1 and a half months. The rest was for comp and edit.

You're quite right about the Moho comment, we could have used Flash but I know that it would never look this good!

We love our Moho!!!!

Head turning has been something that has plagued most of the people on the forums, maybe you can show us the technique you use to achieve it in moho.

Maybe a sample moho file would surfice...

Your work is amazing and really shows what Moho in the hands of great animators is capable of .

I hope you will keep up the 'works-in-progress' postings or maybe start a blog about the production of your 65 minute feature.

Hmm, seems like the latest "QuickTime Alternative" won't play this.

EDIT: That was pretty cool. Very nice work! :D
