Since the image seems to show bone strength, I'd guess that Bone>Release Layer had been used at some point.
That's the only thing I can think of that might make a gradient ignore bone strength

@Geoi88i, yeah, if that's what happened, it's a case where you want to use the Reset trick I mentioned so you can just move on.
