You too should read a manual: "being polite to people who are starting out". I know it must be hard for you, but give it a try, mate. ;)
Perhaps you're a brilliant animator, but your social skills are evidently lacking.
Please stop replying to any of my posts.

Thank you.
Social skills go both ways.

Danimal wasn't being mean. He had the same reaction I had as well. We are are simply trying to help.

The reason both Danimal and myself would agree that suggesting to you to read the manual is not being "mean". Reading the manual is important because of the terms you use for things that aren't in the manual and don't actually make sense within Anime Studio. It appears you don't have a solid working understanding of how Anime Studio works.

There is no mention of "nodes" in Anime Studio. In your description "nodes" appear to be layers or groups of layers with keys. You can't "copy and paste layers", you copy and paste the contents of the layers like points bones and keys. The "nodes" you describe are simply groups of layers with key frames.

You can copy ALL keys of MANY layers by inserting the main time line into an action. Then you can use that action to "reinsert" or use those keys much more easily, In a smart bone, inserting an action into the main time line or using morph dials. The exact same process you are requesting as a new feature for "pasting layers" or pasting "nodes".

Nodes don't exist as you describe them. That makes it confusing for both of us. We need to be on the same page, so.... we suggest reading the manual. You have to realize that many of us here have been using Anime Studio for years and know EXACTLY what you are trying to do. Not only do we understand it but we've probably done it a bazillion times. With our experience we are trying to help you.

I actually have a different opinion regarding the learning process of animation. In fact, I believe that learning animation or any other thing in life has to be "interesting".
I did read the tutorials manual, and the 4xx pages manual, frankly, is a little bit boring, and I'm using it as a reference instead. I basically watch tutorials and then go to the manual to see what it says on the topic. If I then have doubts, I use the forums. That way the learning process is far more interesting.

When I post a question, I don't expect anyone to reply to it, but if someone does, I don't expect to be sent back to the manual. It's an euphemism, because, honestly, the manual doesn't give all the answers, it's just a reference. So, I'd rather be told: look, you probably don't understand this because you're still a beginner, and I'm too tired to go through this again or whatever.
The manual doesn't give all the answers. you know perfectly well that it doesn't.

I probably do use "nodes" erroneously though. I think I might have made up the word when applied to the context of animation. I mean "points", as in "joint" or "knot"

Personally, I wouldn't reply to someone if I didn't enjoy doing it...

Regards!

"...I should thank them for taking the time to help" is the end of that sentence. That you don't like the answer doesn't make the answer invalid.

Everyone is new at some point. Everyone has questions at some point (heyvern answered about 4,000 of mine when I first started). No one is entitled at any point.

Neither heyvern nor I referred you to the manual as the answer to your question, but as a supplement to our answer to your question.

When I 1st got AS in '08 I read the manual and did all the tutorials before I even attempted at making an animation or asked a question. I lurked around for about a year unregistered before I finally was ready to jump in and ask for help and eventually was able to help others.

I now have a really strong understanding of the software and can make and rig just about anything. Now, for animating or making a story is another thing that I have yet to get a grasp on and I am currently reading books and snooping around other forums that are about animating and story making.

Hang in there!

Telemacus, try to understand my point.
I guess you have superior insight. You see the manual as "boring" and incomplete. You understand one of the essential requirements of learning. I personally did not know the meaning of "nodes", "joint" and "knot". I was confused by your question. I guess I'm a bit dense. Even worse I think Danimal was trying to help. I'm prepared to accept whatever your reponse is to me. Good luck.

I hope you're not suggesting that as the "ideal learning curve". :)
