I'm kidding
I'm on there a lot and older than most.

DK Uncle Wes came up with a solution by editing the script (as far as I can tell. You know that saying about a sufficiently high level of technology being indistinguishable from magic? That's how I feel about scripting. And Wes. He's a wizard.)

Check it out on the Elderly Wizard AS User's forum. You will need to grow an animation beard before they will let you in.

Ahhhhhh..... :(

Haha, yeah, I know you were only kidding, madrobot.
But it was a funny remark and it made me laugh. :)
And I can't exactly claim to be a spring chicken myself so maybe there was some truth in it also.

And I DO have a beard. :-)

http://www.kelleytown.com/forum/animato ... hichpage=5 from the other forum. It's in the public area over there - and Wes is Ok with the link being posted here.

(BTW - I don't have a beard!)

[Edit:] links fixed (thanks MR) and directed to AF (Thanks Wes for the OK to do this))

No problem - glad to help -- but it's in the "public" area so no logon needed to get to it  (had it been in the VIP section of http://www.kelleytown.com/forum/animators/default.asp...

<commercial time jingle> where there's lots of exciting stuff that only active contributors can share. :D No beard required! <outro jingle>

Hayasidist you linked the switchslave thread on Lost Marble forum, not the Animators Forum one?

I don't want to offend Wes by linking direct to the thread, but if you go to the Beard Forum and search switchslave you'll find it easily. He re-wrote the script from scratch and explains the naming convention for multiple switch layers.

Minimum Animation Beard for Login:

You will find that the beard and hair lengths would need to be pretty much reversed to gain access to the VIP WIZARD FORUM where all the cool stuff happens.

Hi Mad. I PM'd you re: Synthsins Switch Slave script.

I managed to sort it. The reason I could'nt get it to work is that I had the switch layers nested in a group layer. Once I took them all out of the master group layer the script worked fine.

It seems that this script will be pretty much useless if you can't nest it inside a group. What a damn pity it is the sort of script I would use ALL the time with character animation.

If you nest the switches in a group layer all you get are lua error messages.

Anyone know a way to solve this please!!!!?

Thanks
D.K

Just took this screenshot.
I can't get access into the other forum so I wilkl have to post these error messages here..

Ok....got it all to work perfectly! I had a couple names that were interfering with the operation of the script. All layer and sub layer naming has to be exactly as per the Master and it's sub layers for it to work properly.

Thanks so much for this Wes!
I owe you a beer ;)
