This is a 4th version of my blend morph test.
I think the trick here is to separate all the pieces into different layers, like, the nose alone is 4 layers.
This way I can easilly use layer order to manage the whole thing!

There is some weird things going on with the mouth but the more I try to fix it, the more it gets garbled.
Me think I will go with simpler character design after all, or find another way to do this.

5th blend morph test.
Once the front and side poses are done, it gets much faster to build the rest of the poses.

It looks really good!
Code: Select all
<opinion mode="critic" opinion-counts-for="very-little">
The only minor pop I can see that is a little distracting is his eyebrows.. they seem to lift off his head on some of the turns.
</opinion>

Well thanks kellz5460.
It is done with morph blend, and as I said in another forum, I will make a tutorial on how to make those in the next week or so!

Hi Guilles,
please don't get wrong my comments:
Technicallly the aniamtion is perfect: smooth transition, good drawings... but what about personality? I feel unconfortable with such perfect simmetry, I miss some "life" from the character, something that tells me that it is not a robot...
I've passed form that perfection stage long time ago, searching for the perfection on head turn. Finally I realized that the imperfection is more interesting, if it transmit "something" to the audience. What about the principles of animation? Anticipation, exageration, counter actions, etc. Don't miss them!!!
Push this blend morph tests to something that hit the public!! I know you can do it!

Genete, I never take constructive critism the wrong way, and I agree with you, this is a realistic character for testing, just pushing it while I am getting used to the tool.
My actual character are not that realistic and I plan on using the tool as a first pass option, then add some personality on second pass.
Thanks kphgraphics.
