Edit: Yea but the stuff that comes up doesn't help with my dilema with .xcf.

XCF is the "native" gimp file format.

I typed "Gimp xcf" into google to come up with that one. Obviously you are saving your png in the native Gimp format and not "exporting" it properly.

I don't use Gimp so I really couldn't say for sure. ;)
