Dark's Art

Post by sbtamu »

A woman I play "Everquest" with is a pretty talented artist and allowed me to trace and animate one of her drawings. I hope she will allow me to do more of them.

P.S.
I need to redo the right arm and both hands and waiting on her to reply back to me about drawing the legs.

And my tracing...

You may want to work on the nose a bit more. The nostril in the source art is a good guide to follow. Just a single line....

I'm not very familiar with the shading in Anime Studio but it needs some tweaks. I get the impression that the light source is in front and lower than him (fire pit?, is he looking at it?) If so then the areas farther from the light source should have more shade while the areas closer would be less shaded.

So I'd make the shade on the left arm much thinner and the shade on his torso a bit thicker and the make most of the right arm shaded. This will help the eye understand better where your light is and create a dramatic scene.

Yes, thanks, good eye there. I kinda just used the eyedropper to color this in and I most definitely need to redo the shading.

Thanks:

P.S. yes its a nighttime fight; after he kills that guy he looks at the fire.

The artist asked to make the tunic cover the arms too, so I added that to the image plus the shading suggested.
