I have almost the entire series "Space: 1999" on DVD. I love that show. The joy of it is the bad SFX and bad acting. That's what makes it so fun. The overacting is brilliant and deserves an award of some kind.
That show was ahead of it's time if you ask me. Lots of interesting philosophical discussions about science and religion.
My favorite line is kind of silly. I always laugh when I watch that episode. They were all about to be sucked into a black hole and the lead scientist guy was discussing how they survived against all odds:
"I'm a scientist... I don't know anything about God."
