The Chimney Song

Post by FCSnow »

"There's Something Stuck Up In The Chimney"
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dfCRuzeDC9w&re ... ram><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dfCRuzeDC9w&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Why this link is so outrageously long, I have no idea. It was supplied to me by YouTube.

This animation may not be as good as "Santa Baby", but I heard this little song over a year ago and it has been struggling to get out of my head ever since.

I won't be doing anymore Christmas cartoon for awhile. An idea has popped in to my head I've title "Piranha Dogs" and another one called "Revolt Of The Turkeys". I will also be picking on Holloween.

Some of the lip sync was done with Papagayo and some by hand. I'm not entirely happy with the way Papagayo parses the words. And so I'll be playing around some other way of doing it.

Please watch, enjoy, and comment.

This is the correct link.

Good work FCSnow! I like the whole animation and drawings but dislike:
1) Her eyes. I would like to see some light bright.
2) The proportions. The dog is very big (?). And sometimes she seems to be taller with one clothes and shorter with others.

I liked the son and the final joke.

Yeah, this made me and my wife laugh a lot.

I particularly like the way the little girl dances -- her rocking back and forth movements are very right on (either you have children or are a good observer). And the timing is perfect on the end.

I dunno -- the eyes are an interesting artistic choice but I tend to think going more conventional here would have been better (particularly given the payoff). Even Orphan Annie Eyes (white filled) might have worked better. But top marks all around otherwise!

Thanks Genete for the correct link. I still don't know how YouTube came up with first link

The DOG: When I was drawing the storyboard, everyone was expecting me to draw a small noisy dog. So I made him a giant barking dog.

The Little girls porportions: I must admit that had notice the problem, but was rushing to finish the piece before December.

As for the Eyes: I went several different Eye designs, but decided to settle on a simple black dot.

That was great and very funny. Nice work! :D

Oh, and I wish we could post videos directly in the forum as well. There is a mod for phpbb forums that allow it. But that's something Mike (Lost Marble) would have to do.
