My daughter and I are preparing to collaborate on a cartoon. I have the Mac version of ASP 11.2, she has the Windows 10 version of 11.2. We'll be sending files back and forth. What workflow problems might we encounter because of the different versions?
I read in the ASP manual that if she wants to save her animation as a MOV file, she needs to use the 32-bit version of ASP, not the 64-bit version. Being on a Mac, I am used to MOV files; however, I don't want her to use 32-bit if 64-bit is better for animating in some way.
Any suggestions for our workflow?

She can work in 64-bit and then just use File>Relaunch In 32-bit Mode right before she renders a scene.Hoptoad wrote:I read in the ASP manual that if she wants to save her animation as a MOV file, she needs to use the 32-bit version of ASP, not the 64-bit version. Re: Suggestions on workflow between Mac & Windows
hey hoptoad
we have done alot of work sending asp files back and forth between mac and pc networks. if you can use something like google drive or dropbox to sync your custom content folder it will save you alot of headaches. The shared resources folder can be your best friend. any layer scripts, movies, audio or images your are using, place them in this shared resources folder, if asp cant find them it will look their first and should automatically update the links to them in which ever asp you are using.
referenced character are a little tricker to share, do you plan on having referenced models and sharing scenes?

Oh, that sounds perfect. Thanks.synthsin75 wrote:She can work in 64-bit and then just use File>Relaunch In 32-bit Mode right before she renders a scene.
Thanks for posting the tip about Google Drive and Dropbox. I don't anticipate using referenced models or sharing scenes, but I can't rule it out. Presently she's helping me create vector-art backgrounds, though.amanandink wrote:hey hoptoad
