Now that I am in school I find I am looking at toons with different eyes. I wanted to start a thread so you can list 'toons to watch to learn stuff.'
I just rented one I think belongs on this list ...
-"Cats Don't Dance" and it has some nice animation and camera shots to learn from. I zipped through it just before heading out for Thanksgiving but will go over it deeper tomorrow. On a first pass I see lost of the stuff I'm starting to learn about squash and stretch, varied walk cycles, lots of different types of camera shots and angles - a gold mine for someone like me.
-"A Prince of Egypt" - I saw this years ago but saw part of it in class this week. I was reminded what a magnificent animation this is and I have to pick it up. In particular I was watching bits and pieces focused on use of 'wave' animation of clothes, hair, ropes and other things but it is wonderful throughout.
What are some of your favorite animations for learning and what, if anything. did you find they did particularly well that us noobs might want to pay attention to.
