I think I finally I discovered what was causing my mysterious keyframe behaviour I have been experiencing.
When working on a keyframe on the timeline, I leave a keyframe highlighted, then keep working but then any other translation work i do affects that highlighted keyframe on the timeline.
(Can someone confirm this)----> In the past the simple act of clicking on the screen has been enough to deselect the OLD keframe?
I think I remember something about this a while back but can anyone suggest a way to stop this behaviour other than using a past version?
Cheers

Re: Translate Timeline behaviour
There's a 'relative keyframing' tick box at the top of the timeline now to turn this off. This should stop it accidentally happening.
Hitting the enter key should deselect everything as well I think, but it can be hard to remember
the tickbox was added coz the cool new functionality was previously on by default but is really only needed rarely, and never without intention.
