how do i clear a sceen
for the next sceen i want to erase what i used for 400 frames then screen goes black then the next screen...tryed every thing...if i shut the items off... then there not there at the beginning of the movie...i have been playing with this soft ware for over 5 months...sometime it does not make sents...any help?
Usually we put every scene into its own project file and assemble the scenes in a video editor later.
But you can, to a certain extent, do several scenes within one file. Try this: create one group layer (or a bone layer, it does the same) for each scene. Put the other layers inside it. Switch off/on visibility of these top layers where you need it.

i've only been playing with this for days so this almost certainly isn't the best way to go about it but if i understand you correctly this will get the look you're after:)
create a vector layer that goes on top of everything and keyframe its alpha to zero at the frame before the blackout, then keyframe it again on the next on and set the alpha to 255, so long as the fill colour is set to black that'll cover everything.
maybe a work around rather than what you're after exactly but maybe it was helpful.
keep super
