JinNarration

A bit of animated fanart for Asia Alfasi's comic JinNarration:

I tried to capture the feel of frame-by-frame drawn animation, although I think the clip might be too short for it to really show.

Cute character. Too bad I kept making her fall over every obstacle! It would interesting to know how you integrated this into a Flash game. Did you export these as swfs or bitmaps sprites? I exported each animation as a series of PNGs - but the game itself was made in Multimedia Fusion, so I...

Just a couple of bits I did...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZpwVUAVXWM With the robin clip I was trying for a soft, airbrushed kind of look. Turned out to be pretty complicated, with the amount of masking going on, so with the next bit of animation I did (the girl in the mask) I decided to do the whole thing with two layers, p...

4mations.tv

Anyone here seen 4mations.tv yet? It's basically Youtube for animation.

Here's the top-rated cartoon on there - is it me, or does it look like it was done on AS?

There are a few characters I don't intend to do much with here, if anyone thinks they're suitable. the alien might work, with some tweaking.

Isn't this an example of what they call "full animation"=when you animate the character as a fully 3D object? I wouldn't really say so. I think I'm still using too many shortcuts for it to really qualify as full animation. You could monetize your work if you made an in-depth "Making ...

Don't forget that "Sailor Moon" and most other Anime is done by drawing each frame by hand, so they are able to create any turn or action they require. With a vector animation program like Anime Studio, the process is very much different, even if you want to end up with the same result. Y...

Hmmm... I think I know what you're getting at. You mean something like this ? My biggest piece advice would be simply to avoid using bones - that's what I do, although maybe someone who's better at using bones than I am would disagree. For me, they kind of get in the way if you're going for depth, s...

Well, like I said in my E-mail to him, at this stage I wouldn't mind doing it for free. It might just... take me a while to do it.

Well, I already applied for your other job. If you accept me for that, I could knock together some tests for this to see how things turn out.

Okay, this is what it said: Hey there, I'm interested in that RPG job you posted about at the AS forum. I don't really care about the payment - you can decide all that after the work is done. If the worst comes to the worst I'll do it for free. It looks like an interesting job and I wouldn't mind do...

If you do all the animation for the coloured shape first, you can make a duplicate layer and use that as a mask - although getting rid of the blurring on the mask layer could be fiddly
